What People Say

It had a very positive effect on my physical health, as my well-being started to improve and my body seemed to say 'thank you' by itself, and I can definitely say it had a good effect on my mental health too, because I felt good in class and was always in a good mood thanks to the trainer and fellow dancers - everyone was always positive. I believe that hip-hop taught me to hear music and feel my body, because in dance you need to know how to both relax and at times be more powerful and sharp. I feel more relaxed now too, because some movements need to be done big, meaning the body isn't tense and making small movements, but movements need to be done more lightly and loosely.

Hip-hop has influenced my physical well-being a lot. I love weight training but hate cardio. I almost never run, but since it is super important for a healthy lifestyle to do both iâve found dancing to be a great alternative. U keep your mind busy with music, rhythm, focusing on steps etc and forget that youâre doing cardio at the same time. I am a big fan of Hip-Hop music+culture and itâs vibe. Dancing it makes you feel more confident

I had been dancing different latin dances for a year when I started to feel a bit bored and thought of "what else is there". When I first attended a zouk class, I knew this was it! I liked the complexity of the dance right away. I felt like a total beginner again and seeing different head movements and effect moves such as counterbalance made me think how much there is to learn. What I love the most about zouk is that the connection (!) is the foundation of everything in this dance, I feel the learning journey in zouk is endless and not less importantly - you can dance it to basically everything ranging from lyrical Adele songs to gangsta hip-hop đ

What I love most about hip-hop is how it doesnât judge youâitâs fun, freeing, and packed with joy. When I first started, I realized two things: I had no idea how to move my body, and my legs might as well have been made out of wood. But you know what? Thatâs the beauty of itânobody in the room cared about how âgoodâ or âbadâ I was. They were just vibing, and it clicked that I should be too. Iâd say this: if youâre even thinking about trying hip-hop, just go for it. I know how easy it is to get stuck in doubtâI thought about dance classes for years but never took the leap. I kept wondering, âWill I even be able to do this?â But honestly, I just decided to make my younger self proud and finally give it a shot. And spoiler alert: I wasnât disappointed. So hereâs my advice: no matter whatâs holding you backâwhether itâs nerves, doubts, or âwooden legsâ like mineâjust sign up for a class. Bring yourself there, let loose, and enjoy the process of moving your body in ways you didnât know it could. I did it, and if I can do it, trust me, anyone can.
đ„ WHAT IS HIP-HOP AND WHAT WILL WE LEARN?đ„
Hip-hop is a dynamic street dance style that originated in the 1970s in the Bronx, New York, developing hand-in-hand with rap music and street fashion within Black communities. Hip-hop dance is a core part of the broader hip-hop culture, which centers around five key elements: DJ-ing, MC-ing, graffiti, breaking, and hip-hop history.
Today, hip-hop as a dance style has become a major part of the entertainment industry, influencing pop and R&B artists and taking a strong position in global pop culture.
In our beginner hip-hop classes, we focus on building a strong dance foundation. We'll start with essential techniques like bounce and rocking, learn the basic steps that are essential at any hip-hop party, and integrate what we learn into short practice routines. We’ll also explore the rich history and culture of hip-hop to deepen your understanding of this art form.
These classes will help you improve coordination, build muscle memory, boost endurance, and sharpen your musicality – all in a fun and supportive environment!
For the best experience, we recommend wearing sneakers and comfortable, movement-friendly clothing – loose sweatpants and t-shirts work especially well.
