Get to know Your instructors Vahur & Angelina!

🕺 Vahur
Vahur has significantly contributed to Estonian Zouk scene since 2017 as one of it´s pioneers. His journey into the dance world began in 2015, when he discovered Latin dances (salsa, bachata, kizomba). Zouk won his heart 2 years later. After numerous dance festivals and workshops under renowned Zouk instructors, he feels that Zouk has offered the most powerful dance experiences both in terms of connecting with his partner and feeling  body. This passion led him to a mission: to grow and develop the zouk community in Estonia.

💃 Angelina

Angelina brings a fluid, expressive approach to teaching, focusing on musicality, technique, and personal expression. Her classes help students develop their unique style while mastering zouk fundamentals. TRIAL CLASS welcomes you to try out without any commitment!

  • Modern social dance to your favourite music. Zouk is a social dance to any music! That’s why you can hear a lot of RnB and POP music in zouk classes and social parties. Depending on the music, zouk can be fast, energetic and playful, but also slow, sensual, soulful or even hypnotic and meditative with very calm and lyrical music. Whatever is your vibe, zouk has it!
  • Learn a new skill. Master the rhythm of music and step to the beat with confidence, finding a new version of yourself.
  • Have fun while burning calories. Zouk is not only fun, but also a tool to get a healthy amount of physical activity and improve your posture.
  • Relieve stress and anxiety. Positive emotions are waiting for you to forget daily stress! Studies show that people who dance live longer and happier lives. Dancing helps to reduce stress, make you sleep better, and release a lot of "happiness" hormones to your body. Combining fun physical exercise with some mind work can do wonders.
  • Build your confidence. Learning a skill that makes you enjoy yourself inside, makes you also glow outside! We're all in the beginner class to learn together, laugh together, and get out of our everyday routine.
  • Community and new friends. Tallinn Zouk community welcomes you with weekly classes, special events on the weekends, summer beach parties and new friends!

Warning: Learning Zouk may cause: sudden boost of confidence, strangers asking "where did you learn to move like that?", an overwhelming desires to hit the dance floor on daily basis and attend weekly social parties. Side effects include meeting new people, getting in shape and enjoying yourself like never before.

What People Say

The rhythm of Zouk, which at first felt uncomfortable, quickly became my main dancing rhythm. I've started to feel and enjoy the dynamics of leading and following. The Zouk community in Estonia is quite small and might seem exclusive at first glance, but actually, people are very friendly and gladly welcome all beginners to the dance floor. Just a few classes are enough to reach a level where you can enjoyably spend time at socials.

Mikk

I started with two courses at once and there was so much to learn even at the basic level - I discovered many new and fundamentally important things that are also relevant for other dance styles. When starting partner dancing, I would definitely recommend zouk because firstly, it gives you a strong technical foundation (also for other dances); secondly, zouk has a very friendly and supportive community, with whom it's great to start and discover together. Thirdly - and this might be the most important - zouk allows you to search for and find new ways to express yourself in dance, to do it together in a very special atmosphere.

Agne

I was at the practice party after taking only two classes and it was very enjoyable. The community was super welcoming. Zouk allows you to express so many different emotions, since the music is so very different. You get confident with bouncy r'n'b moves as well as sensual flowy elements like head movements or body rolls. Zouk is not as hard as it might look. Learn basic step and come to the party! You will always find someone there to practice your basic step with

Andrei

I just found the style interesting-looking and I had some friends who were doing it. Zouk feels very satisfying to dance - the dynamics and tension feels very different from any other social dance. There's much more air, many pauses and dynamics changes that create an experience that is always new. You can never really get bored as soon as you get in the flow with someone. I would say my favorite thing is the flow and connection for sure. I like how the scene is small and family-like. Also I like that in Zouk it is considered polite to dance multiple dances in a row with one partner - it allows you to build connection. It definitely improved my balance and coordination with dancing Zouk
