🕺 Vahur
Vahur has significantly contributed to Estonian Zouk scene since 2017 as one of it´s pioneers. His journey into the dance world began in 2015, when he discovered Latin dances (salsa, bachata, kizomba). Zouk won his heart 2 years later. After numerous dance festivals and workshops under renowned Zouk instructors, he feels that Zouk has offered the most powerful dance experiences both in terms of connecting with his partner and feeling body. This passion led him to a mission: to grow and develop the zouk community in Estonia.
💃 Triin
Triin’s life full of dance started when her dad took her to Kaie Kõrb Ballet studio at the age of 5 - since then she never stopped. She danced Ballet for 7 years, later dance acrobatics and Estonian folk dance. While at high school, she became member at Estonian dance agency, where she used to spend all her evenings - learning Classical, Contemporary, Jazz and various modern dance techniques. She was brought to Latin Social dances by her Latin friends in 2015 when graduating high school. She started with Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba, when later in 2019 discovered Zouk - her true love. Since then, she hasn´t looked back. She has been teaching locally and internationally since 2021, organizing zouk events, and boosting the Tallinn Zouk community on daily basis.

What People Say

I was at the practice party after taking only two classes and it was very enjoyable. The community was super welcoming. Zouk allows you to express so many different emotions, since the music is so very different. You get confident with bouncy r'n'b moves as well as sensual flowy elements like head movements or body rolls. Zouk is not as hard as it might look. Learn basic step and come to the party! You will always find someone there to practice your basic step with

What surprised me most was how flowing and free this dance is. When I first came to a Zouk class, it felt like diving head-first into unknown waters. I had to somewhat throw away what I had learned before and focus on constant flow. Zouk opened a completely new dimension in dance - like communication between bodies without words! It gave dance a certain depth and charm that I hadn't experienced with other dances. Don't think about it for too long! For someone who values beauty, emotionality, and free self-expression in dancing, Zouk could offer lots of joy in discovery and personal growth. At first, the dance might seem unfamiliar, unusual, or even complicated. It's enough if you're open to this experience - you won't be alone because our community is extremely supportive and warm. I feel like I've found another home and a dear Zouk family to always come back to!

I started with two courses at once and there was so much to learn even at the basic level - I discovered many new and fundamentally important things that are also relevant for other dance styles. When starting partner dancing, I would definitely recommend zouk because firstly, it gives you a strong technical foundation (also for other dances); secondly, zouk has a very friendly and supportive community, with whom it's great to start and discover together. Thirdly - and this might be the most important - zouk allows you to search for and find new ways to express yourself in dance, to do it together in a very special atmosphere.

The rhythm of Zouk, which at first felt uncomfortable, quickly became my main dancing rhythm. I've started to feel and enjoy the dynamics of leading and following. The Zouk community in Estonia is quite small and might seem exclusive at first glance, but actually, people are very friendly and gladly welcome all beginners to the dance floor. Just a few classes are enough to reach a level where you can enjoyably spend time at socials.
